Lineage M and Taipei 101 Launch The World's Premier of Mysterious Code mission in Counting Down to the New Year
TAIPEI, Taiwan, Jan. 3, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Netizens in Taiwan are abuzz with excitement at the hidden message contained within the 60-second countdown video shown on the Taipei 101 T-Pad at New Year's Eve. This was the creative collaboration between Gamania, a Taiwanese Internet company, and Taipei 101 in celebration of the new year's countdown event at the iconic skyscraper. At the same time, Chen Chin-Feng, a Taiwanese baseball hall-of-famer, was invited as a surprise guest to count down the new year along with all 23 million people of Taiwan. Gamania today confirmed the meaning of the code, and announced the second stage of mysterious code mission. They call for all people in Taiwan to solve the mystery.
The "Taipei 101 New Year Spectacle" has always been a staple event internationally, and this time, the 56-story tall T-Pad made its debut as a giant wall of lights spanning from the 35th floor to the 90th floor. Gamania and Taipei 101 worked in tandem to welcome in 2018 with a 60-second countdown video on the T-Pad showing a set of mysterious numbers that was kept in secrecy until the very moment it was unveiled to the public in Taiwan. Tens of Millions watched as the numbers faded in color at the end of the countdown, and Internet forums immediately started lighting up with posts about it well before the first rays of sunlight hit 2018. Live streaming and video recordings of the 60-second clip also started going viral soon after.
The idea of placing a code in the New Year's Eve countdown event came from Gamania, a digital lifestyle company with its roots in online gaming.
This idea demonstrates Gamania's creativity, playfulness, and innovative breakthroughs in its approach to business. The colored numbers contain a hidden message that "can only be revealed through Lineage" and that everyone in Taiwan was invited to try and piece together the clues. After three days of Internet discussion and media reports, Gamania finally revealed today that the mystery number "552268800" is the exact number of seconds since the day the original Lineage was launched in July 1, 2000 in Taiwan up until December 31, 2017. The operation team further confirmed that this set of numbers is only one of the two sets of passwords for the special event of "New Year 2018 for Lineage M". The newly released photography which includes a hidden mystery message is the second step to discover the mystery. It shows the way to find out how to participate in the lottery activity, which provides more than 1 million prizes and virtual goods.
