Marketers may now browse or search actual anonymous visit data to look for patterns and trends and to create new alerts. Alerts are triggered based on over a dozen distinct criteria. For example, alerts help sales and marketing by providing details of anonymous visitors and by informing them of which inbound marketing sources such as Google AdWords, search engines, retargeting and social sources led the prospect to the site, or if it was an organic visit.
A large portion of website visitors are unknown. Understanding the characteristics and demographic information of these anonymous visitors before they actually register for content or contact sales provides valuable intelligence data.
