Living Water International Selected as Favorite Charity of the 2017 Chevron Houston Marathon
Nonprofit Delivers Water, Sanitation and Hygiene Solutions Across 20 Countries Around the Globe; Receives $51,000 Run for a Reason Prize in honor of Super Bowl LI
HOUSTON, Jan. 16, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Living Water International announced today it has won the Chevron Houston Marathon Run for a Reason Favorite Charity Contest, hosted by the Houston Marathon Committee, which includes a $51,000 award. In honor of Super Bowl LI, Chevron, a Houston Super Bowl Host Committee Founding Sponsor, upped the prize purse for the 2017 contest to $51,000. The prize money was awarded by representatives from the Houston Marathon Foundation, Chevron and the Super Bowl.
The prize is sponsored by Chevron, which partners with the Houston Marathon Foundation to celebrate and recognize the success of the Chevron Houston Marathon Run for a Reason Program.
A leader within Houston's nonprofit community for more than 25 years, Living Water demonstrates the love of God by bringing desperately needed clean water to communities around the world. Since its inception, Living Water has completed nearly 18,000 safe water projects serving more than five million people as part of its ongoing commitment to provide water, for life, in Jesus' name.
