Local Broker Begins Term As President-Elect Of Greater Boston Association Of REALTORS®

BOSTON, Jan. 22, 2015 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Andrew Sarno, Broker Associate at RE/MAX Andrew Realty Services in Medford, has been elected as President-Elect of the Greater Boston Association of REALTORS® (GBAR) for 2015.  He was officially installed in ceremonies held at Brae Burn Country Club in Newton in December.

As GBAR President-Elect, Sarno will sit on the GBAR Board of Directors, and act as liaison to the association's committee chairpersons.  Additionally, Sarno will serve as an association spokesperson, represent GBAR on the Greater Boston Real Estate Board's (GBREB) Board of Directors, and will perform the duties of president in his absence. Sarno is responsible for keeping the local REALTOR® membership informed on public policy issues, financial matters and organizational activities conducted by the association.  He will also act as a liaison between GBAR and state legislators and local elected/appointed officials.  He will succeed to the office of president in 2016.

Sarno, a REALTOR® for ten years, has served as the association's treasurer, two-time chairman of the Professional Standards Committee, and on the Membership Benefits and Grievance Committees. He has also served on the Finance Committee for GBREB, as the Chairman for the MAR Professional Standards Committee, and member of the MAR Finance and Structural Audit Committees, and will serve on the NAR Membership Policy and Board Jurisdiction Committee in 2015.

The Greater Boston Association of REALTORS® is one of five real estate specialty divisions of the Greater Boston Real Estate Board.  The Association is the Board's largest division with a membership of more than 7,200 residential real estate professionals working in 800 offices throughout Metropolitan Boston and Eastern Massachusetts.  The Board is a member of the National Association of REALTORS® and the Massachusetts Association of REALTORS®.
