Local Plastic Surgeon Dr. Sacha Obaid Selected as Super Doctors® Rising Star for 2016
For second consecutive year, North Texas Plastic Surgery founder passes rigorous multi-phase selection process.
SOUTHLAKE, Texas, Jan. 25, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Dr. Sacha Obaid, plastic surgeon and founder of North Texas Plastic Surgery, has been selected for the second consecutive year as a Rising Star on the Super Doctors roster for 2016. Super Doctors is a listing of outstanding physicians from more than 40 medical specialties who have attained a high degree of peer recognition and professional achievement.
The Rising Stars list represents the top 2.5% of all doctors in each geographic region and field of specialty with up to 10 years in practice. Selection for this prestigious list results from passing a series of qualification steps.
After creating a pool of candidates by interviewing peer physicians and reviewing achievements, physicians in over 40 specialty areas in communities around the country are evaluated on indicators including: Hospital appointments, fellowships, professional activities, leadership positions, academic achievements, board certifications, publications, lectures and presentations, honors and awards, and other outstanding achievement. A blue-ribbon panel then reviews the nominee list, and the highest-scoring doctors are chosen after good-standing and disciplinary checks are conducted.

Super Doctors and Rising Stars selections have been conducted annually since 2005 by Key Professional Media, which publishes results online and in regional newspapers.

Dr. Sacha Obaid is a board-certified cosmetic surgeon who specializes in cosmetic facial and body procedures, liposuction, breast reconstruction, and pediatric craniofacial reconstruction surgery. He studied at the New York University Institute of Reconstructive Plastic Surgery, the University of Texas Southwestern, and Harvard Medical School.
