Lockheed Martin And University Of Miami Health System Enhance Real-Time Intelligence For Improved Patient Care

ORLANDO, Fla., Feb. 25, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT) and the University of Miami (UM) Health System and Miller School of Medicine announced a multi-disciplinary partnership to leverage emerging healthcare technology for improved patient care.

Lockheed Martin will help the University of Miami Health System manage vast streams of health care data, develop predictive models for risk identification, and build automated systems that ensure providers have information in near real-time to enhance care for the residents of South Florida.

In 2013, the Lockheed Martin/UM Health System team established a data environment, implemented big data analytics and predictive modeling tools, and started to stratify patient data and conduct risk assessments. The team will enhance these tools and techniques this year, and will integrate predictive analytics into the hospital workflow – all while ensuring patient data is safe and secure.
