Lockton Names Sorge and Bierley to New Leadership Roles
HOUSTON, Nov. 2, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Lockton, the world's largest privately held, independent insurance broker, has named Mike Sorge and Bobby Bierley to new roles as strategic leaders in Lockton's operations in Texas.
Mike Sorge has assumed the role of Strategic Broker Leader in Lockton's Risk Management Practice in Houston. Sorge has 25 years of combined underwriting and broking experience with an emphasis on large, complex casualty placements for both energy and non-energy accounts. He provides clients with comprehensive advice and risk finance solutions, leveraging large deductibles, self-insured retentions, captives, rent-a-captives, and risk retention groups. He has extensive experience in both complex collateral strategies and complicated umbrella/excess liability insurance programs. In this new role, he will continue to work closely with clients to structure and manage these highly specialized placements. He has been with Lockton for 14 years and previously was a Regional Underwriting Manager at CNA Risk Management. Sorge received his bachelor's degree and MBA from Appalachian State University.
Bobby Bierley will take on new responsibilities as a Strategic Broker Leader in Lockton's Energy and Marine Practice. He has more than 16 years of energy and marine insurance broking experience, with more than 8 years at Lockton. He served most recently as Team Leader of Lockton's Multinational Energy and Marine Practice. In addition, Bierley has experience as an Account Executive for a variety of large, complex, downstream, midstream and upstream energy and marine clients. Bierley's experience includes all aspects of the design, marketing, structuring and placement of global complex energy, casualty, property, marine and construction insurance programs. He will continue to focus on collaborating with energy and marine clients to place and provide ongoing support for complex insurance programs. Bierley received his bachelor's degree from Samford University and his MBA in risk management and finance from the University of Georgia.
