Locus FS Expands Permian Operations with Midland Facility Acquisition, Tripling Blending Capacity

Company-owned site significantly increases production and storage capacity while creating infrastructure to support continued growth in oil and gas

MIDLAND, Texas, Sept. 22, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Locus FS today announced the acquisition of a new production facility in Midland, Texas, significantly expanding the company's blending, storage and logistics capabilities to support growing demand for its high-performance biosurfactant-based solutions.

The move represents a major investment in Locus FS's ability to scale alongside its customers. The new facility will initially provide approximately three times the blending capacity of the company's existing Midland operation, with sufficient space and infrastructure to ultimately expand to as much as five times current capacity.

The site will also double the company's under-roof storage capacity, provide additional space for finished product inventory and enable future installation of bulk storage tanks. Together, the expanded capabilities will give Locus FS greater flexibility to manage inventory, increase production throughput and respond more efficiently to changing customer needs.

The acquisition also transitions Locus FS's Midland production operations from a leased facility to a company-owned property, reinforcing the company's long-term commitment to the region and providing greater flexibility for future investment and expansion.

Located in the heart of the Permian Basin, the Midland operation plays an important role in supporting Locus Bio-Energy customers across one of the country's most active oil-producing regions. Locus Bio-Energy develops biosurfactant-based oilfield chemistries designed to improve fluid behavior, increase hydrocarbon recovery and address performance challenges across the well lifecycle.

Recent field results in the Delaware Basin have demonstrated the growing commercial potential of the technology, including approximately 20% higher cumulative oil production and more than 15% estimated ultimate recovery expansion in a controlled 12-month trial using the company's SUSTAIN® biosurfactant technology.

The new facility is also designed to improve material movement and plant operations. Expanded space will allow for more efficient loading and unloading, on-site truck weighing and improved traffic flow within the facility, supporting both logistics efficiency and operational safety.

Over time, Locus FS plans to introduce additional automation into blending and production processes at the site, further increasing throughput, repeatability, and operating efficiency. The expanded capacity is also intended to support a broader range of Locus FS customers over time, providing additional blending and production flexibility for solutions serving oil and gas, mining, agriculture and other commercial markets.

The Midland investment follows a series of capacity-building initiatives across Locus FS. In July, the company expanded its laboratory operations in The Woodlands, Texas, bringing oil and gas, mining and formulation capabilities together to accelerate customer-driven product development and commercialization.
