
Long Island's Finest To Compete In Tug-Of-War To Benefit The Wounded Warrior Project
5TH ANNUAL FUNDRAISER AT JONES BEACH PUTS NASSAU AGAINST SUFFOLK IN AN EPIC BATTLE OF STRENGTH AND ENDURANCE!
LONG ISLAND, N.Y., July 27, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- WBAB is proud to present the 5th Annual Long Island Police Tug-Of-War Championship on Friday, July 27th at Jones Beach Field 4. This is the only event on Long Island that brings together Law Enforcement Officials from Nassau and Suffolk with the goal of raising funds and awareness for our wounded Veterans and their families.
Participating in the event are members of Nassau and Suffolk Police, Deputy Sheriffs and Correction Officers. Teams are made up of 7-10 members and are subjected to a weigh-in prior the competition to ensure fairness and gamesmanship.
The public is invited to watch and cheer for their home county as Long Island's Finest compete for bragging rights and the coveted championship cup. Can 2011 Champions Suffolk Police and Deputy Sheriffs and Nassau Correction Officers hold on to their titles? We'll find out on Friday night!
After the trophy presentations, the public is invited to stick around for free live music on the Friendly's Bandshell featuring AC/DC Tribute "Live Wire".
