Los Angeles Jury Awards $32.5 Million to Woman Who Suffered Severe Spinal Injuries in Lancaster Collision

LOS ANGELES, March 24, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- A Los Angeles jury awarded $32.5 million to a woman who was severely injured in a multi-vehicle collision in 2018.

PARRIS Law Firm attorneys Jason P. Fowler and Jonathan W. Douglass, along with Sommer Jordan, a PARRIS senior paralegal, represented a client involved in a multi-vehicle collision in Lancaster, CA. The crash occurred when two defendants traveling eastbound collided and the force of their impact sent their vehicles directly into the path of PARRIS Law Firm's client. To avoid being struck, the client was forced to swerve suddenly, causing her vehicle to hit a median, flip over, and come to rest upside down.  

After the crash, the plaintiff was hospitalized and diagnosed with a pulmonary contusion, lacerations across her left wrist, left foot, and swelling to her right ankle and right wrist. However, the most significant injury was a broken L3 vertebrae – requiring a fusion surgery.  Although the surgery was successful in stabilizing her spine, the client continues to suffers from chronic pain and limited range of motion due to the fusion.

After the crash, police investigators placed the primary responsibility for the crash on one of the defendants. However, witnesses placed fault on the other defendant.
