FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla., Aug. 22, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Lubell Rosen Managing Partners Mark Rosen, Esq. and Steven L. Lubell, Esq. are pleased to announce that Lorna E. Brown-Burton, Esq. has joined the firm as a partner. Brown-Burton, a Coral Springs resident, will be based in the firm's Fort Lauderdale office.

Amber L. Ruocco, Esq., an associate practicing in the Workers' Compensation division, is also joining the firm's Fort Lauderdale office. Ruocco resides in Fort Lauderdale.

Brown-Burton's primary area of practice is workers' compensation defense, having represented employers, self-insureds and carriers for 30 years. She also has experience in the area of labor and employment and social security disability. She is currently a member of the Workers' Compensation Section of The Florida Bar, and is a 17th Circuit Board of Governors representative for The Florida Bar. In addition, she is a past adjunct professor at Broward College in the paralegal degree program.

Brown-Burton was recognized for her achievements in Florida Trend magazine as a Florida Elite in the area of Workers' Compensation in 2018. In addition, she was recognized by Legacy Magazine as one of "50 Most Powerful and Influential Leaders of 2016," "Who's Who in Black South Florida" in 2007 and 2009, and has earned many more accolades. She earned a bachelor of science in business administration and marketing from University of Florida in Gainesville. Brown-Burton received her J.D. from the now Nova Southeastern University Shepard Broad College of Law in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
