Luis A. Ayala Colón Sucrs., Inc., Container Terminals in San Juan Selects NASCENT for Gate System Modernization and "Intelligent" Vision Solutions

Ayala Colón Sucrs., Inc. has elected to upgrade its existing gate system to SYNAPSE AGS 3. In addition, the company has chosen to implement NASCENT's enVision Imaging and OCR Portals to further enhance gate operations and increase security at the port.

The San Juan, Puerto Rico-based terminal has been running NASCENT's SYNAPSE AGS since 2006 when it was first implemented for then terminal operator Horizon Lines. Throughout the years, the gate system has been upgraded periodically to accommodate various business environment changes, as well as a steadily increasing flow of cargo through the terminal.

This latest move to modernize the gate system is being undertaken in conjunction with the implementation of a new terminal operating system which is scheduled to go online in the first quarter of 2019. Together, the new gate system and terminal operating system is expected  to result in greater levels of efficiency, increased security, faster turn times, and a seamless gate experience for the carriers that service the terminal.
