Luis Miguel Messianu Named 2011 "Executive of the Year"
MIAMI, Oct. 12, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Luis Miguel Messianu, President and CCO of Miami based Alma, was honored today by his advertising industry colleagues with the 2011 HispanicAd "Agency Executive of The Year" award during the annual AHAA Conference being held in Miami this week. He received the HispanicAd "Creative Director of the Year" recognition 10 years ago, making him the only person to receive both awards.
With this tribute Messianu joins the Hispanic Hall of Fame along with top industry executives. "I receive this recognition on behalf of the amazing management team and each and every person that works at Alma. They are the ones that make it happen. I also receive this on behalf of all our clients, both the ones that have been with us for a long time and the new ones that have joined us in the last few months. I'm incredibly fortunate to have them in my life," said Luis Miguel.
2011 has been an incredible year for both Luis Miguel's career and Alma's, winning six new accounts including Polar Beer, PepsiCo, Rosetta Stone, Ron Santa Teresa, and Cricket Wireless' national launch, among others.
Born to Romanian parents and raised in Mexico City where his advertising career started more than 25 years ago, Luis Miguel has been honored with prominent awards, appointed as lecturer, and served as judge at international festivals. Only in the last two years Messianu was selected Jury President of the Art Directors Club Awards (first time a Latino held that position); was named Jury President at FIAP and was in charge of the first-ever open live debate to award the TV Grand Prix via web TV. He was inducted into FIAP's Hall of Fame; was included in Adlatina 2010 (a select book of leaders that have impacted and shaped the market in the last decade); and in January of 2010 Alma was the only Hispanic agency recognized by the Ad Age "Agency A-List" report.
