ARLINGTON, Va., Oct. 26, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Lunarline, Inc., an Arlington-based leader in cybersecurity consulting, services and training, added yet another important capability by signing on as a partner with the CERT® Program at Carnegie Mellon University's Software Engineering Institute (SEI). The partnership enables Lunarline to leverage SEI's world-renown body of research, frameworks and models to improve organizations' ability to manage cybersecurity and operational resilience programs from the board room to the server room.
In addition to its acclaimed School of Cybersecurity, Lunarline already boasted cutting-edge managed-service, penetration testing, assessment and authorization, and on-site customer support. However, by having access to SEI's CERT® Resilience Management Model (CERT-RMM) and OCTAVE risk-management framework (products of years of vetting with a wide array of public and private-sector organizations), Lunarline is now able to help all organizations improve cybersecurity in ways that last and show return on investment.
"What we're finding is that leaders in the field are not only concerned with policy compliance and boosting their technological capabilities," said Doug Gray, senior cyber architect, "They want to know their management programs are enabling better security and that they can articulate how they contribute to the company's mission in ways executives and other stakeholders can readily appreciate."
The federal government already leverages CERT-RMM as the basis of the Department of Energy's Cybersecurity Capability Maturity Model and the Department of Homeland Security's Cyber Resilience Review for critical infrastructure sectors, and the model has been used extensively by organizations such as the U.S. Postal Service, Lockheed Martin, Sungard, and PNC Bank. CERT-RMM provides proven practices in areas such as strategic alignment, asset management, vulnerability analysis, technical solution engineering and supply-chain management. In addition, the model helps the organization to make changes stick by institutionalizing these practices within the organization.
When coupled with current Lunarline portfolio, such as managed services, deep and dark-web hunt teams, penetration testing, as well as National Institute of Standards and Technology Risk Management Framework assessments, this partnership enables Lunarline to provide a holistic approach to cybersecurity protection, detection, and incident recovery.
