Bally video launches Stripe Collection of casual bags for men

Bally, the luxury shoe and leather brand, has created a short film to launch the Bally Stripe Capsule Collection of casual travel bags for men. It shows one man's weekend adventure as he goes from boardroom to skateboard via tennis court and international romance. The video captures the new relaxed spirit of luxury that inspired the small collection launching worldwide in June 2013 with the hero of the capsule, the Weekender. Bally Creative Directors Michael Herz and Graeme Fidler say: "Guys today appreciate the real meaning of luxury. It's more than simply expensive decoration. The collection's understated luxury is intended to be revealed over time as bags are used. Each one is constructed from soft yet extraordinarily robust calf leather in an intense shade of chestnut. A matt finish was chosen that is easy on the eye but gives the rich texture of premium leather with every touch. Innovative leatherwork techniques keep seams to a minimum. As well as making the bag more lightweight and durable, this also enhances the collection's clean shape and natural elegance. Each bag features practical pockets for optimum functionality, adjustable straps or handles in raw-cut leather, and distinctive square-rounded buckle design inspired by the Bally archive.

To highlight the collection's spirit of innovation, functionality and relaxation, Bally's iconic red and white stripe motif has been re-engineered. After 75 years as a decoration symbolising Bally's first days as a pioneering ribbon company in the 1850s, the Bally Stripe became an essential element and a classic signifier of the house. Made from red and soft white premium calf leather, the new-look stripe is padded and inlaid on a special frame using an exclusive handcrafted method.

The small collection also features a Business Bag and a Tote. In addition, there is a Messenger and a Cross Body Bag - both with a padded compartment for a laptop.
