Major Office Expansion for Direct Energy

BUFFALO GROVE, Ill., July 22, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Direct Energy^®, one of North America's leading energy and energy related services providers, has expanded its operations in Buffalo Grove, Illinois.  The company increased its facilities by 75% and now occupies about 57,000 square feet. There are almost 300 employees working in the expanded facilities on Abbott Court. More than 100 new jobs have been added this year and Direct Energy continues to hire to support its Home Warranty of America™, Direct Energy Protection Plans and Direct Energy Rentals businesses that are located here.

We have sales and service agents, marketers, supervisors, project managers and analysts working here each day. Direct Energy used all locally based Chicago contractors to enlarge and renovate the space. The new work area occupies two buildings and incorporates the open concept Direct Energy uses in most locations. There are no private offices, instead everyone works in an open and collaborative environment. In addition to the expanded work areas, there are three mother's rooms; two lunch rooms with healthy options; training rooms; a call center and a warehouse/shipping area. The new facility also has state of the art video conferencing and telephony systems along with modular training facilities. "Our expanded and renovated facilities position us well for the future. We also incorporated additional space so we can continue to hire and create new jobs," added Dennis Donovan, Head of Operations and Planning for Direct Energy Services.

Direct Energy's Innovation to Inspiration tour will be making a stop for an expansion ceremony scheduled for 3:00 p.m. on July 22^nd.  It is a mobile exhibit, with a sleek, interactive display of exciting new innovations in home and business energy management.
