Make Reservations Now for the Golden Quill Awards
PITTSBURGH, April 19 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Reserve a spot now for The Press Club of Western Pennsylvania's 46th annual Golden Quill Awards, Monday, May 3, 2010, at the Sheraton Station Square Hotel, 300 W. Station Square Drive, Pittsburgh.
Winners of the Golden Quills competition, recognizing professional excellence in written, photographic, illustration, broadcast and online journalism in Western Pennsylvania, will be announced at the event. See the list of finalists at www.westernpapressclub.org.
Also that evening, Robert Fryer, managing editor of the Tribune-Review, will receive the President's Award, honoring lifetime achievement in journalism.
The Press Club will also honor the late John Christian, a former newscaster and producer with WPXI-TV, with the Service to Journalism Award.
Alex Davis, a junior at the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford, will receive the 2010 Press Club of Western Pennsylvania Scholarship for aspiring journalists.
The Golden Quill Awards evening will start at 6 p.m., with a cash bar and reception. Dinner and the awards ceremony will follow at 7 p.m.
