CLIFTON, N.J. and FREDERICK, Md., Nov. 28, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- NuMSP, a growing national managed service provider offering managed IT and cybersecurity solutions, today announced its entry into the Eastern Seaboard SMB IT services market with the acquisition of Maryland-based Swift Systems, a full-service managed service provider (MSP) offering comprehensive IT solutions for small and midsized businesses.
This acquisition, the fifth for NuMSP, continues its buildout of a national managed service platform targeted to the small and midsize business (SMB) market. SMB organizations face rapid advances in technology, making it increasingly difficult for smaller businesses to stay current and realize the full ROI on their IT investments. To meet this challenge, NuMSP is building a nationwide company with the scale and resources to deliver advanced IT services to SMBs that will rival incumbent solutions at Fortune 500 companies.
"Swift Systems began serving the Maryland market in 1998 and has expanded to provide managed IT services to a range of growing businesses over the years," said Vaughn Thurman, founder of Swift Systems. "Joining the NuMSP platform represents the next exciting step in our evolution, enabling the combined organization to bring an expanding array of high-quality technology choices to mid-market customers to help them better secure and manage their ever-evolving IT needs."
"I am glad that Swift Systems is now a part of NuMSP and will become part of our nationwide company delivering IT services to the SMB market. The company that the leadership team, Vaughn and Josh, built has a highly regarded service model which will help in our expansion around Frederick, Baltimore, and Washington D.C.," said Jim Griffith, CEO of NuMSP.
The transaction closed on November 27, 2018.
After years of providing IT services and security solutions for small and midsize (SMB) businesses across several states, our leadership team decided to offer premium solutions in every state in the U.S. The SMB market has always provided most of the job and economic growth in the United States but this segment's ability to access and leverage technology has always been limited to in-house research capabilities and expertise, or the reliance on a trusted IT advisor, a role made more difficult given the advances in technology and proliferation of security threats. In response to these dual trends, NuMSP is creating a nationwide company with the scale and resources to deliver advanced IT services and security solutions that will rival the solutions leveraged by Fortune 500 companies. We are currently looking to enter new geographic areas and acquire MSPs in our existing geographic markets.
