EDWARDSVILLE, Ill., Aug. 13, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Citizens Rx, a St. Louis-based pharmacy benefits manager, announced that Mary Ellen Mitchell has joined the company as Executive Vice President, Pharmacy Services.
A licensed pharmacist, Ms. Mitchell has more than 25 years experience in PBM, retail, hospital, consulting and management. Ms. Mitchell most recently served as Chief Operating Officer of Excelsior Solutions, a Minneapolis based company offering consulting services to healthcare corporations, managed care organizations and public and private employer groups.

Prior to joining Excelsior, Ms. Mitchell served as Chief Services Officer at National Medical Health Card, where she oversaw account management, client & retail pharmacy contracting, and strategic sales initiatives.
From 1987 to 2005, Ms. Mitchell worked for CVS Pharmacy Inc., overseeing a variety of management positions including pharmacy contract negotiation, strategic relationship management, accounts receivable, integration activities during acquisitions, and system requirement development.
Ms. Mitchell holds a Bachelor's of Science degree in pharmacy from the University of Sciences in Philadelphia, PA.
