McCormick Names Jeffery D. Schwartz Vice President General Counsel and Corporate Secretary

SPARKS, Md., Dec. 2, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- McCormick & Company, Incorporated (NYSE: MKC), a global leader in flavor, today announced the appointment of  Jeffery D. Schwartz to the role of  Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary, effective December 1, 2014.

Mr. Schwartz joined McCormick in 2008 and became Associate General Counsel in 2011.  Prior to McCormick, he worked in private practice for the law firms of Jones Day and Akin, Gump, Strauss, Hauer and Feld where he gained valuable legal experience in Washington DC and Moscow, Russia.  Mr. Schwartz earned his Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from North Dakota State University, an MBA from the University of Wisconsin-LaCrosse and his law degree from American University's Washington College of Law.

Mr. Schwartz has been heavily involved in McCormick's Mergers and Acquisitions work for the past six years with important roles in the Kamis S.A., Eastern Condiments Private Ltd., Koohinoor Foods Ltd. and Wuhan Asia-Pacific Condiments Co. Ltd. acquisitions.  He also serves as the Secretary for the Audit Committee and works closely with our Technical and Engineering teams on McCormick patents.  Mr. Schwartz is an Emeritus member of the Global Multiple Management Board (MMB), McCormick's acclaimed professional development program.
