SUNRISE, Fla., Nov. 10, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- MDLIVE today announced the completion of a significant expansion of its virtual care collaboration with Walgreens offering consumers in 20 additional states 24/7 access to MDLIVE's nationwide network of board-certified doctors via Walgreens mobile app. The latest expansion brings the total number of states to 25.

"As we expand virtual care service, we are seeing strong demand based on consumers' appetite for digital convenience and ease-of-access to a quality board-certified physician. We are thrilled to be collaborating with an innovator like Walgreens who understands these fundamental consumer expectations and knows how to execute to meet and exceed them," said Randy Parker, Chief Executive Officer of MDLIVE.

As part of the expansion, consumers in all 25 states will benefit from enhanced ease of use through increased integration of the Walgreens and MDLIVE apps - allowing for more seamless access to virtual visits.

The states in the latest mobile app expansion include: Alabama, Arizona, Connecticut, Florida, Indiana, Iowa, Maryland, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nevada, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oregon, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, and Wisconsin.

"Walgreens provides convenient and connected services for our customers, and we are thrilled to be advancing our digital experience to provide patients with more choices when it comes to accessing care," said Adam Pellegrini, Walgreens divisional vice president of digital health.
