Miami Dolphins Running Back Kenyan Drake's Attempt to Devour Five Pounds of Smokey Bones' Bigger & Better Signature Dishes for Charity

PLANTATION, Fla., Dec. 13, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- On Tuesday, December 11, Smokey Bones kicked off its "Five Pound Eating Challenge for a Cause" with Miami Dolphins running back Kenyan Drake. Fans crowded the Smokey Bones to meet the running back who scored the game-winning touchdown defeating the Patriots. Attempting to add Competitive Eater to his title, Kenyan Drake accepted Smokey Bones' Charity 5 Pound Eating Contest challenge, which included 2.5 lb. Slab of House Smoked Baby Back Ribs, 1 lb. Smoked Pork Chop, ½ lb. Premium Burger and 1 lb. of the Hot Bag O' Donuts.

Kenyan Drake fasted in preparation and started off strong, but didn't make it to halftime. However, for his participation, Smokey Bones donated $5,000 to his charity of choice— The Boys & Girls Club of Broward County.  "I chose to benefit The Boys & Girls of Broward County because it hits home. I grew up closely with the organization in Atlanta and they work to enable all young people, especially those in need, to reach their full potential as productive, caring and responsible citizens," says Kenyan. About Kenyan Drake
Kenyan Drake is a running back for the Miami Dolphins, and played collegiately at Alabama.  He was drafted by Miami in the third round of the 2016 NFL Draft. During his college career, Drake is best known for his 95-yard kickoff return touchdown in the 2016 National Championship Game, which Alabama ultimately won. Originally from Atlanta, Georgia, Kenyan was a highly touted recruit coming out of High School and was named the state of Georgia's Gatorade High School Athlete of the Year during his senior campaign.  Kenyan enjoys spending time with his dogs Tyson and Maxine and is largely involved with two charities – Smile Train and Boys & Girls Club of Broward County.
