
Michigan's 529 Plans Launch Summer Reading Program Sweepstakes on 5-29 Day!
Parents have a chance to win $1,500 toward college
LANSING, Mich., May 26, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- The Michigan Education Savings Program (MESP) and the Michigan Education Trust (MET) are launching the 4th annual Summer Reading Program Sweepstakes, Destination College Savings (the "Sweepstakes"), on a special day this year, May 29, 2011 – or 5-29 Day!
MET and MESP are Michigan's official Section 529 plans. Both plans offer flexible features and a potential state income tax deduction on contributions for Michigan residents. MESP and MET have helped thousands of families save over $2.7 billion* toward a loved one's future college education (*May, 2011).
The Sweepstakes, which launches on May 29, 2011 (5-29 Day) and runs through August 12, 2011, will award twelve $1,500 prizes to parents with a participating child in the Summer Reading Program, which can be used toward a child's future college education. Plus, the libraries of the winners will receive $1,000 toward their future reading programs. Parents can enter to win by filling out an official Sweepstakes Entry Card at their local participating library when signing up their children for the Summer Reading Program.
