DENVILLE, N.J., Jan. 6, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Micro Strategies Inc., a leading solutions provider with over 28 years experience in infrastructure and business process solutions, has achieved Gold Competencies in both the Portals & Collaboration and Virtualization in the recently redesigned Microsoft Partner Network (MPN) Program.  As of the date of this release, Micro Strategies is one of only three Microsoft Business Partners in the United States to have achieved this distinction.

"Partners who achieve Gold Competencies in the Microsoft Partner Network send a signal to customers that they are among the most qualified solution providers in their area of speciality," said Jack Braman, vice president for Microsoft Corp. "Micro Strategies ability to meet the stringent requirements of the Gold Competency for Portals & Collaboration and Virtualization demonstrates its ability to meet customers' evolving needs in today's dynamic business environment."

Achieving a gold level in any competency requires significant commitment and solution depth.  Four Solutions Architects/Engineers must demonstrate technical competency through testing; two sales executives must be trained and pass exams that demonstrate solution knowledge; and five references must be obtained from clients for whom the partner has deployed a solution in the competency.

"In the last year, we set a goal to be one of the first organizations to obtain the Gold Certifications in both Portals & Collaboration and Virtualization.  Based on the depth of our experience with workflow, portals and content management and virtualization solutions, we exceeded the requirements.  We are excited about the solutions we can deliver on the Microsoft platforms including SharePoint, Windows Server Hyper-V, System Center, and virtual desktop/applications," stated James Veraldi, Executive VP, Micro Strategies.

Within 10 weeks of the new MPN competencies launch, Micros Strategies' team had the unique distinction of holding two Gold competencies.  These certifications demonstrate the breadth of the Micro Strategies' capabilities in both advanced infrastructure with virtualization solutions and targeted business solutions using SharePoint 2010, and their commitment to the Microsoft solution platform.

"Attaining the Gold Certified Partner status in Portals & Collaboration and Virtualization demonstrates our considerable expertise and strong relationship with Microsoft," said Ray Scardelli, Vice President of Sales and Marketing.  "Our customers will benefit significantly, because this status allows us to enhance their development and migration experiences."  When a partner becomes Microsoft Certified, they can help their customers take advantage of the full array of features and functionality inherent in the Microsoft technologies.  Each competency has strict guidelines designed to represent the specific service skills partners must possess to help their customers solve business problems and enable growth.

In addition to the newly awarded Gold Competencies, Micro Strategies was the first partner in the NJ/NY Metro area to open a Microsoft Solution Briefing Center (MSBC) - and now has a second Center in the Philadelphia area.  The MSBCs showcase our specialized technical, creative design, and problem solving skills in support of leading edge technologies. Clients utilize these labs for proof of concept testing, demonstrations, test drives, product installation and implementation assistance, custom training and workshops.
