COLUMBIA, S.C., July 21, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- EDENS is proud to welcome Frank Scibelli, founder of FS Food Group, and his down-home, authentic regional-style barbecue concept Midwood Smokehouse to Cross Hill Market.

Once you've dined at Midwood Smokehouse, be prepared for the inevitable cravings that follow. Seasoned pit masters keep true to traditional barbecue plates, but also incorporate those flavors into salads, sandwiches, burgers and tacos. Their staff is committed to doing everything the right way, which is why they make barbecue sauce from scratch and adhere to a 'round the clock' smoking schedule.

For Midwood Smokehouse, Scibelli traveled throughout the country to visit the landmarks of American barbecue, seeking the expertise of 'cue experts from around the country. The original location in Charlotte is no stranger to acclaim. In four short years, the restaurant's commitment to quality barbecue has garnered national attention and customers' online acknowledgement as some of the best food in Charlotte. From The New York Times to Travel Channel's BBQ Crawl, Midwood Smokehouse continues to stoke the media fire.

"Frank has created concepts such as Bad Daddy's Burger Bar & Cantina 1511 that have a strong commitment in maintaining scratch kitchens using fresh, quality ingredients," says Lyle Darnall, Managing Director at EDENS.  "He continues to maintain that legacy with Paco's Tacos & Tequila, Mama Ricotta's, Midwood Smokehouse and Plate Perfect Catering.  We are excited to introduce and share a restaurant of Midwood Smokehouse's caliber with the Columbia community".

The restaurant will be in the former American Roadside Burger location and will soon be under construction.  It is expected to open this fall.
