Mike Bauman Appointed Chief Operating Officer of DDB Group Canada

TORONTO, Aug. 3, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Frank Palmer, chairman and CEO of DDB Group Canada, the corporate office for Omnicom Group Inc. in Canada, is pleased to announce the expanded role of CFO Mike Bauman, reflected in his new title: Chief Operating Officer (COO).

"For the past 11 years, Mike has provided sound operational counsel and exemplary leadership in his position as DDB Group Canada's Chief Officer," said Palmer.  "With today's evolving business landscape, we wanted to amend his title to better reflect the range of his responsibilities and valued contributions."

In addition to overseeing the engagement of Omnicom's legal, risk management, payroll and tax services as part of his operational role, Bauman will work closely with Palmer and the DDB Group Canada agency presidents to ensure all business operations are functioning in an efficient, effective manner.  His focus is to help optimize revenue growth and profitability via direct engagement in large client contract negotiations, acquisition prospecting, real estate portfolio management, and supplier management, and through his leadership of DDB Group Canada's financial and IT teams.

Previously, Mike held the title of Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer, DDB Group Canada.
