A sofi AWARD is the top honor in the $109 billion specialty food industry. "sofi" stands for Specialty Outstanding Food Innovation and represents the best of the best from members of the Specialty Food Association.
The Milkboy Swiss Chocolate 60% Cocoa Dark Chocolate with Essential Pine Tree Oil was selected by a national panel of specialty food experts from 2,715 entries across 32 Awards categories including Outstanding Chocolate. Winners will be announced June 29, 2015, by Ted Allen, host of Food Network's Chopped, at a red-carpet ceremony at the Summer Fancy Food Show in New York City.
"We are so honored to have this kind of gourmet industry recognition in our very first year," says Emanuel Schmerling, founder of Milkboy Swiss Chocolates. "I grew up in a chocolate crafting family in Switzerland," he explained. "Making chocolate was the art of my father and my grandfather. It has been my quest to define a remarkable tasting, traditional Swiss-made chocolate. I want to restore the stature of fine Swiss chocolates to the North American market. I think my ancestors would be very proud of this award and Milkboy Chocolate."
Milkboy Swiss Chocolates are sold at top specialty retailers like New York's chocolate mecca, 2Beans, Southern Seasons in North Carolina and Virginia, Garden of Eden grocery chain in NY, Prospect Avenue Market in Bend, OR and Chocolate Covered in San Francisco, CA just to name a few.
