Olympic gold medalist spent a night with Colorado-based Cuvee Ventures for an elite gala
KENT, England, Aug. 21, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Four-time gold medalist Missy Franklin received a well-deserved break during the week of the Closing Ceremonies as she took time out of the Olympic spotlight, for a royal-like party. She attended a private gala at the famous Leeds Castle outside of London, hosted by Colorado-based company Cuvee Ventures.

Missy's "royal visit" began with an iconic English afternoon tea in the castle's decadent dining room and ended with an early morning attempt at hot air ballooning over the Kent countryside. Cuvee Ventures, a boutique private equity fund that owns the world's most distinguished portfolio of villas and penthouses, is using the centuries-old castle as home base for the Olympics and for their week-long investor event.
Missy was also joined by her parent's D.A. and Dick Franklin, and 9 News Reporter Cheryl Preheim.
"Pinch me...I just got back from a dream assignment," wrote Preheim to her Twitter followers. "Working on a story in the English Countryside. This place is known as the loveliest castle in the world." Missy also Tweeted about her experience at Leeds Castle.
On the evening of August 8th, the Franklin family attended a once-in-a-lifetime dinner in the castle's historic and decadent King Henry VIII Banqueting Hall, where the King himself often entertained. The Franklins and the 50 Cuvee Gala guests were players in a Murder Mystery concocted by the same troupe that conducts the mysteries on The British Orient Express. Missy "caught" the "murderer" at the finale of the evening and gave fellow guests a laugh.
