WESTWOOD, N.J., Dec. 12, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Modera Wealth Management, LLC® was named a Best Place to Work in Money Management for 2017 by Pensions & Investments. This is the third time Modera has been honored with this award, also winning in 2012 and 2016.
Greg Plechner, Principal and Wealth Manager, said, "We've worked hard to develop a culture where employees feel supported and can thrive. Being recognized with this award for the third time tells us we must be doing something right. We couldn't do any of this without our amazing staff, and it's great to see they appreciate Modera as much as we appreciate them."
George Padula, Principal and Wealth Manager, added, "Clients and staff members are an extension of our family. Our core values mean everything to us, and we work hard to uphold those values."
Pension and Investments noted several ways that Modera has exemplified the integration of company and community. Modera has a Philanthropy Committee that selects a theme for each of its four offices to sponsor philanthropic endeavors. In 2017, the firm dedicated its charitable efforts to financial literacy for underserved youth and spent time with children and teenagers teaching them the importance of saving and budgeting.
Sally Long, Principal and Wealth Manager, said, "Philanthropic efforts have become important to our staff. We want Modera to be a financial firm that does far more than just serve our clients. Our staff is working to create a positive and lasting impact in the community. And I think when you're doing good while doing well, you create passion among employees as well as purpose."
Modera continuously looks for ways to enhance staff interactions among its four offices and organizes firm-wide team-building retreats. Formal educational seminars are also available for staff to acquire personal finance insights from CFP® professionals.
Pensions & Investments partnered with Best Companies Group, an independent research firm specializing in identifying great places to work, to conduct a two-part survey of employers and their employees. The firm evaluated the policies, practices, philosophy, systems and demographics of each nominated company, which accounted for 25% of the total evaluation. The second part of the survey measured the employee experience and was worth 75% of the evaluation. The combined scores determined the companies receiving the award.
Dr. Barry Kaplan, Principal and Wealth Manager, noted, "It's such an honor to be recognized for this award. Our success with our clients and as a firm begins and ends with a talented, hard-working and inspired staff. We're lucky to have created that environment at Modera."
Modera is a fee-only, independent wealth management firm that works with individuals, families, retirement plan sponsors and non-profit institutions in the areas of portfolio management, retirement planning, estate planning, income tax planning and risk analysis. Specialized services are also offered for corporate executives and small business owners.
