ATLANTA, Oct. 15, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- The late summer call from the Superior Court of Fulton County presented a sticky but common problem. Judge Robert C.I. McBurney was seeking to resolve a case in which two former business partners couldn't agree on what to do with a portfolio of investment properties they owned. The caller asked if Marietta-based John Dixon & Associates could sell the properties at auction.
"The timing was perfect, because we were organizing our October series of Multi-Seller auctions that enable us to pool properties and expenses to get properties sold," said President John Dixon, who was appointed Receiver in the case. The properties included seven houses and a vacant lot in Gwinnett County, as well as a five-unit apartment building in Atlanta. They sold for $1.3 million in the Atlanta auction that was part of a seven-event series that resulted in the sale of more than $4.75 million in real estate.
"That's a great example of how our Multi-Seller auctions work," said Dixon. "We can include properties not only from banks, but also from investors, individuals and courts, which frequently need to get real estate liquidated to resolve cases."
The series of auctions included residential and commercial real estate in Georgia, Florida, the Carolinas, Tennessee and Virginia.
"Over a two-week period, we had auctions in Knoxville, Charlotte, Atlanta, Augusta, Tallahassee and Eastman, Georgia. We sold a lot of property, including homes, lots, duplexes, office buildings, retail properties and land. I even sold some property of my own in this series," said Dixon.
The company is currently organizing its next series of Multi-Property auctions, tentatively planned for early December. Individuals interested in additional information about the properties may visit www.johndixon.com or call 800-479-1763.
