Morgan & Morgan Recovers $8 Million for Woman in Car Crash Trial

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla., March 29, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Leading plaintiffs' firm Morgan & Morgan announces that attorneys Matt Morgan and Keith Mitnik on Friday won an $8 million jury verdict in Volusia County court for a client who suffered extensive injuries when a driver who had been drinking struck her car.

As a result of the crash, Tamara Roundtree sustained extensive injuries, including several disc herniations, requiring her to undergo surgical procedures. She has had to endure a lumbar decompression procedure, after exhausting other more conservative medical measures. She is also in need of a cervical surgical procedure. Ultimately, the total past medical bills at the time of trial were about $188,000.

The verdict stems from a crash that occurred on S. Clyde Morris Boulevard in Volusia County, Florida, in 2010. Roundtree had been driving near the street's intersection with Beville Road, when the defendant, who was intoxicated, hit her car from behind.
