ARLINGTON, Va., Jan. 14, 2013 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The National Association of Chemical Distributors (NACD) is pleased to announce the launch of the ChemEdge Conference and Trade Show. This event, formerly known as the Operations Seminar & Trade Show (or OPSEM), has been increasing in value for over 20 years and the new name reflects a broader and enhanced educational program now available to NACD members.
By participating in ChemEdge 2013, NACD members and Affiliates will enhance their employees' core competencies and will help their companies advance in the industry. NACD members employ over 22,000 individuals. ChemEdge is a primary vehicle for educating these key employees on operations and logistics, regulatory compliance, Responsible Distribution and broader topics such as human resources, finance, customer service and purchasing.
The new name was revealed to the NACD membership at the 2012 Annual Meeting in San Diego, CA. In his announcement, NACD Chairman Roger Harris, President, Producers Chemical Company stated, "This conference has grown into a fantastic resource for our organizations and our employees. So much so that we feel it needs to have a new name reflecting its true value." He continued, "NACD member employees are so important to our businesses that we need to invest in them as much as we invest in products. ChemEdge will also enable employees to feel that they have an edge in their careers by staying abreast of what's ahead and will strengthen their pride in working in our industry."
