Natural Grocers Expands Across Oklahoma

DENVER and TULSA, Okla., June 20, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Natural Grocers by Vitamin Cottage^® (NYSE: NGVC) is opening its newest location in Tulsa, Oklahoma on June 25th.  The Tusla store at 9137 E. 71st St. will be the company's second in Oklahoma, joining a Norman store. Additionally, Natural Grocers is kicking off a campaign to help victims of the recent Oklahoma tornadoes and Colorado wildfires.  Natural Grocers will be matching donations made at any of its 68 Natural Grocers locations beginning June 22 through June 29th.  All funds raised, plus matching funds up to $25,000, will be equitably divided between the OKStrong Disaster Relief Fund and the Colorado Red Cross to benefit victims of the recent tornadoes and the wildfires.  Funds will be allocated to the highest need within the affected communities.

True to the Natural Grocers philosophy, the new store was built using green features such as energy-efficient motion light sensors, 100 percent post-consumer content tiles, high efficiency heat-exchange systems, polished concrete flooring and commercial-grade LED lights.

In addition, Natural Grocers does not provide either paper or plastic bags at its checkout registers. In the event customers forget to bring their reusable bags, Natural Grocers offers free recycled boxes.   Natural Grocers will also donate a nickel to the local food bank every time a customer checks out with his or her own bags.
