Nebula Disrupts OpenStack Market With Lowest Point of Entry for Private Cloud

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., March 3, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Nebula, the enterprise private cloud company, today announced the industry's lowest point of entry for deploying a commercial OpenStack private cloud. Nebula now requires only three server nodes to build a private cloud versus the industry standard of five to eleven nodes. Additionally, Nebula has doubled the density of its Cloud Controller server capacity from 20 to 40 nodes, allowing customers to dedicate budget to more compute and storage resources, instead of OpenStack services. With Nebula's latest release, enterprises can implement an OpenStack private cloud faster, with fewer servers, and a smaller rack footprint, resulting in greater cost savings, extensibility, and flexibility.

One of the primary benefits of private cloud computing is the ability to control costs by leveraging existing resources. However, the majority of today's cloud solutions come with a high point of entry including the need for additional servers and a large rack footprint. • Cloud Protection Ring (CPR) Architecture: New ring topology architecture ensures resilient connectivity in multi-controller deployments. The CPR provides simplified network deployment of OpenStack private clouds and allows for higher cloud resiliency and performance.
• Node-2-Controllers (N2C) Architecture: Dual-home server node connections to two separate Cloud Controllers for continuous uptime for higher node resiliency and availability.
• Double Density: A single Cloud Controller increased support from 20 to 40 cloud nodes for greater scalability and cost savings, allowing budget to be allocated to compute and storage instead of OpenStack services.
