WARREN, Mich., Jan. 19, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Calling all women in Northern Michigan!  Art Van Furniture has come up with a great cure for the winter doldrums as they celebrate the opening of one of their newest stores in Petoskey.  Michigan's largest furniture retailer and 9&10 News have teamed up to create a special ladies night on Sunday, January 30, 2011 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Imagine salsa dancing through the sofa section of Northern Michigan's newest furniture showroom with 9&10 news personalities including news anchor Michelle Dunaway.  That's what's planned inside the new Art Van Furniture in Petoskey.  Free salsa, Zumba and Yoga instruction will be offered.  This is an opportunity to be pampered with free manicures, massages, hair styling and makeup, courtesy of Spa at the Inn at Bay Harbor, Solace Spa, ILaria Hair Studio, La Dolce Vita Salon and Spa and Sunkissed Salon and Spa. Guests will also be offered spray tanning, smile consultations, floral arranging, cooking demonstrations and the E Times Four boutique will feature the latest styles.  There will be music, food, drinks and lots of great prizes.

This month, Art Van Furniture became the first furniture retailer in Michigan history to hold 3 grand openings with new showrooms in Petoskey, Onaway and Auburn Hills, adding a total of nearly 200 new jobs to Art Van's payrolls.

"What better way to celebrate our new store and warm up a cold Michigan night than a Girls' Night Out," said Art VanElslander, who opened the first Art Van store more than 50 years ago.  "We're eager to meet our new neighbors, and let them see the style and panache that Art Van brings to the neighborhood.

"While the event is free, guests are encouraged to donate to the Northern Michigan Regional Hospital Foundation to fund the FetaLink Monitor Project.  The FetaLink monitoring system acts as a second pair of eyes for all Colleagues, including doctors, who can access electronic information from anywhere in the Hospital network or even from their homes. Also, all real-time data is immediately entered into both mother's and baby's electronic medical charts, putting crucial information together in one location.
