Nemours Children's Health Welcomes Caswell L. Samms, III as Chief Financial Officer

WILMINGTON, Del., March 24, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Nemours Children's Health, one of the nation's largest multistate pediatric health systems, announced the appointment of Caswell L. Samms III, MBA, as the new Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer (CFO).

As CFO, Samms will lead financial strategy, ensuring Nemours Children's maintains its financial strength and stability as the organization continues its commitment to delivering the highest quality care and addressing all of the factors that impact child health. He succeeds Rodney McKendree, who retired as CFO in February.

Samms brings more than 25 years of progressive experience in large healthcare systems. Most recently, he served as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer at St. Joseph's Health in Paterson, New Jersey. His executive experience includes budgeting, revenue cycle, business development, and operations.

Samms holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Virginia State University and an Masters of Business Administration (MBA) from Regis University. He is Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certified and is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives and the Healthcare Financial Management Association. Becker's Hospital Review named him among its Rising Stars, and Diversity MBA included him in its "Top 100 Under 50 Executive Leaders."
