NEW YORK, June 5, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Vulvar lichen sclerosus is an inflammatory condition of the vulva that can also present itself on other parts of the body. Women who suffer from this condition are plagued by constant discomfort, making daily activities and sexual intercourse nearly impossible. The treatment options for vulvar lichen sclerosus, which usually include the use of ultra-high potency steroid creams, may be associated with significant health risks when used for an extended period of time. These risks, along with some patients' inability to tolerate long-term use of steroids may limit the effectiveness of steroids. A study conducted by Andrew T. Goldstein M.D at The Centers for Vulvovaginal Disorders in Washington D.C. and New York suggested that using NeoGyn Vulvar Soothing Cream can help to reduce discomfort in individuals with lichen sclerosus, which allows patients to maintain the effects of the treatment when used in conjunction with steroid creams.
