NetActuate Launches Media Marketplace: More Than 110 Streaming and Media Appliances Across a Global Anycast Edge

NetActuate pairs its global anycast network with a curated catalog of commercial and open source media software for one-click deployment without extra fees or lock-in.

AMSTERDAM, Sept. 9, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- NetActuate, a leading provider of global edge infrastructure and network services, today launched the NetActuate Media Marketplace, a curated catalog of more than 110 media, streaming, transcode, and delivery appliances for one-click deployment across NetActuate's global edge anycast network.

The Media Marketplace catalog spans both commercial partners and a deep open source library covering ingest, transcode, packaging, caching, WebRTC, and more. Every appliance deploys onto the same trusted, production server flow NetActuate customers already use for cloud, virtual machines, and managed Kubernetes in more than 45 locations worldwide.

Because appliances run on NetActuate's edge rather than a centralized region, media, broadcast, and streaming teams can place ingest, transcode, and delivery close to both contributors and viewers.

A New Model

Deploying media infrastructure today typically means spinning up a bare server, then configuring the software stack, then deploying to a hyperscaler cloud. This model is slow and subject to egress fees that soak up 3-20% of revenue and lock in users. The NetActuate Media Marketplace changes that order and dramatically increases deployment speed and increases multi-region availability.

There are two ways in. NetActuate customers deploy from inside the portal: sign in, go to Platform then Marketplace, choose an appliance, configure it, and click Deploy. Sizing follows each appliance's own networking recommendations and the base configuration is bootstrapped automatically, so a real tool lands on real infrastructure without a procurement cycle.

Selected appliances also offer a public sandbox that needs no account at all. A visitor picks an appliance and a private, time-limited instance is provisioned close to them, live in minutes and torn down automatically when the trial ends. NETINT Bitstreams with VPU acceleration, Norsk Studio, Edge by Quortex, and Unified Origin can be tried this way today. For software vendors, the sandbox is a channel as much as a demo: a public trial anyone can run without a sales conversation first, with the resulting interest passed back to the vendor.

No revenue sharing or hidden fees

NetActuate charges no listing fee and takes no revenue share for appliances in its marketplace. Customers pay for the compute an appliance runs on, and nothing else. Commercial appliances are bring your own license (BYOL): the vendor's own license key is applied at first boot, never stored and never echoed back. Open source appliances need no license at all.
