The music video debuts ten days ahead of the World Premiere of Story's feature "A Winter Rose" honorary selection to open the 17th annual film festivalDANCES WITH FILMS, Hollywood's Chinese Theater, May 29th— soundtrack also featuring music from Kaliyani.
Featuring a blend of exotic World Music style woven with a New Age, elegant, and yet complex thread, Kaliyani's evocative vocals are reminiscent of some classical music styles that range from Operatic to Gregorian and are often embedded in a dramatic contemporary cinematic orchestration that makes her music deep, luminously rich in structure and unique in its class. Kaliyani's inspiration comes from a sense of intimate connection with the Mystery and a burning desire to break through all limiting concepts of reality: "Many have asked me who is singing with me in the beginning of 'Nammu's Invocation'...as if there was someone else there… In a sense it is true since I feel a definite presence with me every time…"
In this, her FIRST foray into the world of recorded song, Brazilian native Kaliyani (aka Jane Gehr, spiritually inspired visionary/producer – "Secrets of Love,' PeaceLink Live) is an emerging recording artist whose unorthodox introduction to singing brings a fresh and unbridled edge to the transcendent musical genre.
"An apparent paradox is that I'm not a deep connoisseur of music and unlike many singers and lyricists I do not fill my days with it. I love silence and solitude whenever I can get it. It is a privilege that I try to cultivate in my life. I believe what I'm saying Aldous Huxley expressed very well when he wrote:
'After silence, that which comes nearest to expressing the inexpressible is music.' –
"Maybe now, after having overindulged in silence, music has finally claimed its rightful turn with me…" Kaliyani
