New Bible Study Offers a Deep Dive into Ancient Yisra'elite

Military Veteran and Author Benjamin N. Carrasquillo challenges modern interpretations

WOODBRIDGE, Va., Oct. 10, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- For some believers, or non-believers, it's common to have a persistent sense that something lies beneath the surface of scripture. Questions may be raised about the culture, context, and the original meaning of the ancient words when they were first written. In author Benjamin Nieves Carrasquillo Jr.'s latest publication, "Through the Lens of an Ancient Yisra'elite Bible Study," readers are taken back in time to when those who first received the word and how it may be applied today.

Written to avoid western bias, Carrasquillo writes more than 90 chapters of content covering in-depth study of the Biblical text within the context of the ancient culture, language, traditions, and customs of a first century Yisra'elite. In addition, readers are given rich illustrated visuals of ancient alphabets, first-century homes, feasts, and more.

"The Bible wasn't written to us, but for us," Carasquillo said. "When we understand the ancient Yisra'elite perspective, we see everything in a new lens, making more sense of how it may apply to our lives."

Whether playing a role in the church as a pastor, small group leader, or someone hungry for a fresh connection to the scripture, Carasquillo's Bible study is a timely resource for those ready to go deeper, potentially gaining the tools to interpret the Bible accurately and confidently.

"These pages have always been trustworthy; however, we often lack the lens to see it." Carasquillo said, "I hope my words will remove the centuries of fog and reveal the beauty and truth that was there all along in its ink."
