CHICAGO, July 17, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Family Office Exchange (FOX), a global organization that advises the family wealth market, announced a new workshop aimed to help the growing number of family enterprises facing a transition in leadership. According to a forthcoming study conducted by Dennis Jaffe, PhD, in conjunction with the Family Office Exchange, 45% of families around the world expect a leadership transition within the next three to five years.
The workshop, titled "Family Leadership Succession: Developing a Roadmap for Successful Leadership Transition," will be held September 10-12 in New York City. The program is designed to meet the needs of multi-generational family enterprises seeking guidance on how to manage a change in leadership and will cover:
- What it means to lead a family enterprise
- The pitfalls and challenges of leadership succession
- Assessing personal leadership skills
- How to develop a succession roadmap
"Attendees will leave this workshop with a customized roadmap for managing their leadership succession process, incorporating everything from what makes a good leader to how to implement a fair and effective selection process," says Karen Neal, FOX managing director of consulting.
The agenda will also highlight the stories of three families who have recently been through a leadership transition as well as case studies from workshop sponsor Abbot Downing, a FOX Leading Wealth Advisor.
"One of the key benefits of this workshop is it allows families going through a leadership transition to learn among and from their peers," says Margaret Vaughn Robinson, a FOX senior consultant and one of the workshop facilitators.
FOX membership is not required to attend the class, although FOX members do enjoy a discounted rate. Seating is limited to assure an optimum learning experience.
