Scarinci Hollenbeck's New Jersey Litigation Law Group Continues Its Expansion with the Addition of Rachel E. Simon
LYNDHURST, N.J., Jan. 21, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- Scarinci Hollenbeck is pleased to announce the addition of Rachel E. Simon to the firm's New Jersey Litigation practice group. Specializing in complex litigation, Ms. Simon has practiced as a criminal defense attorney, civil plaintiff's attorney and municipal prosecutor and has represented clients before every level of the Federal and State courts in New Jersey. Based out of Scarinci Hollenbeck's Lyndhurst, NJ office, Ms. Simon will continue to represent individuals and corporations of all sizes, as well as public entities in protracted, complex and highly-sensitive matters.

Multi-faceted Attorney
Prior to joining Scarinci Hollenbeck, Ms. Simon co-founded the Leadership Fellows Program at her alma mater, Seton Hall University School of Law. Together with renowned Professor Paula Franzese, she teaches principles of leadership doctrine, professionalism, ethics, decision-making, emotional intelligence, and other necessary competencies to second and third-year law students, as well as mentoring their independent community service projects. While at the firm, Ms. Simon will continue to serve as a Volunteer Associate Director for the program.
In addition to her litigation practice, Ms. Simon has experience handling matters related to Technology Law. During her time in law school, Ms. Simon's area of scholarship was National Security Law, with an emphasis on surveillance mechanisms. Ms. Simon worked with the Department of Defense at the Military Commissions at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, and attended multiple trial proceedings for the 9/11 defendants. Her work on the effects of technology on evidence-gathering was used by the DoD trial teams at Guantanamo, as well as submitted to the D.C. Court of Appeals in habeas proceedings, the Inter-American Court of Human Rights on behalf of detainees, and published in whitepapers by the Center for Policy and Research.
Prior to her legal career, Ms. Simon was a professional trumpet player based in New York City. She received her undergraduate degree with honors from The Juilliard School, and has performed, recorded, and toured with, among others, Kanye West, Jon Batiste, Diana Ross, Jethro Tull, the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, New Jersey Symphony Orchestra, Verbier (Switzerland) Festival Orchestra, New World Orchestra, International Contemporary Ensemble, and various Broadway shows.
