New President Elected to the Appraisal Institute of Canada's National Board of Directors

Daniel Doucet, AACI, P.App from Altus Group will lead AIC

OTTAWA, June 11, 2015 /CNW/ - The Appraisal Institute of Canada (AIC) is proud to announce the election of Daniel Doucet, AACI, P.App of New Brunswick AIC National President for 2015-2016. Mr. Doucet was formally inducted during the AIC's Annual Conference held on June 3-6, 2015 in Kelowna, BC.

Daniel Doucet, AACI, P.App is currently the General Manager and Senior Director, Research, Valuation and Advisory at the Moncton office of the Altus Group.  He has more than 30 years as a professional appraiser in New Brunswick, with extensive valuation experience in residential, commercial, industrial, institutional, special purpose properties and all types of vacant land throughout New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, Ontario and Quebec.  In the latter part of his career Mr. Doucet has been involved in First Nations Specific Land Claims and Expropriation/litigation assignments.

He has been an active volunteer within provincial and national committees of the Appraisal Institute of Canada and the New Brunswick Association of Real Estate Appraisers. He is fully bilingual and will be a strong representative for AIC members in both English and in French.

The AIC's highest honour, the Fellow, was also awarded to two AIC Designated Members who have emulated AIC's values and integrity in every facet of their career. This year's recipients include: Scott Wilson, AACI, P.App, Fellow of Prince Edward Island and Peter MacLellan, AACI, P.App, Fellow of Nova Scotia.

An Honourary AACI was also awarded to Janice O'Brien, the Executive Director of AIC-BC in recognition of over 20 years of dedicated service to members and her involvement with various provincial and national committees.
