DEARBORN HEIGHTS, Mich., Jan. 14, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- In the weeks that followed the opening of Oddity Treasures last July, U.S. Army veteran Bogdan Gavrau and Sarah Kesler had customers constantly asking where the closest U-Haul® neighborhood dealership could be found.
The partners decided to make it closer.
Oddity Treasures, a resale store that sprouted from Gavrau's and Kesler's hobby of buying items at auctions and reselling them on eBay®, now offers U-Haul trucks, trailers, towing equipment and moving supplies.
Reserve U-Haul items at Oddity Treasures by visiting http://www.uhaul.com/Locations/Truck-Rentals-near-Dearborn-Heights-MI or calling (313) 429-1037 today.
Oddity Treasures is at 20702 Van Born Road in Dearborn Heights, located on a main road just one block from Interstate 94 near exit 204. Operating hours are 9:30 a.m.-7:30 p.m. Monday-Friday, 10 a.m.-7:30 p.m. Saturday and 10:30 a.m.-6 p.m. Sunday.
Gavrau and Kesler are eager to help their community with any and all moving needs.
As full-time college students, Gavrau and Kesler have benefited from turning their hobby into a successful business venture. Oddity Treasures' affiliation with U-Haul has delivered more foot traffic and increased local awareness of the store.
Kesler is a graduate student of Psychology. When she isn't at Oddity Treasures, she can be found tutoring other students. Gavrau is an undergraduate studying Medical Administration.
The partners attend storage auctions to purchase their items for the store. Oddity Treasures is known to sell a wide variety of items.
"Clothes are surprisingly our most popular seller," Gavrau said.
There can be product overlap when buying storage units. When the partners get too much of an item or don't see the profit in selling it, they donate to the Salvation Army. Gavrau, having been active duty prior to attending school and now a member of the U.S. Army Reserve, is passionate about giving back through the business.
Oddity Treasures is a great place to become U-Haul Famous. Take your picture in front of a U-Haul product, send it in and your face could land on the side of a U-Haul truck. Upload your photo through Instagram using #uhaulfamous, or go to www.uhaulfamous.com to submit photos and learn more.
