Bandai Namco Filmworks debuts the new visual 'Barbatos Rises at NYC' alongside free exclusive signings, screenings, giveaways, and city-wide activations during NYCC 2025

LOS ANGELES, Sept. 19, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Bandai Namco Filmworks today unveiled the striking new commemorative visual "Barbatos Rises at NYC," created exclusively for New York Comic Con (NYCC) and a series of Gundam activations across New York City this fall. The artwork, featuring the iconic Gundam Barbatos towering against the Manhattan skyline, will serve as the hero image of this year's Gundam celebrations and mark an unprecedented, city-wide experience for fans.

Gundam will transform New York into a hub for Gundam fans from October 4–19, with exclusive director signings and giveaways at NYCC, to the Gundam Film Festival at Japan Society, and Gundam-wrapped buses roaming Manhattan streets.

Fans have a rare opportunity to meet acclaimed director Tatsuyuki Nagai (Mobile Suit Gundam Iron-Blooded Orphans) at NYCC.

This TV series emphasized its road movie aspect by following the journey of child soldiers. Episodes 1–25 comprise Season 1, and Season 2 (Episodes 26–50) was subsequently produced. The story depicts boys who rise from the lowest levels of society, moving forward relentlessly simply to survive. On the mechanical side, the series features multiple mobile suits built from the same frame, a notable absence of beam weaponry, and gritty mobile suit battles fought with blunt weaponry — all of which became key highlights.

About Mobile Suit Gundam Wing
Following Mobile Fighter G Gundam, this television series debuted as the second installment of the Gundam "Alternative Universe" series. Summary of Mobile Suit Gundam Wing
A.C. 195. The space colonies launch Operation Meteor, dropping Gundam mobile suits onto Earth to strike back against the United Earth Sphere Alliance, which rules over them with armed force. After catching sight of Heero Yuy, one of the Gundam pilots, Relena Darlian is caught up in the vortex of fate. Duo Maxwell, Trowa Barton, Quatre Raberba Winner, and Chang Wufei--four other Gundam pilots with the same mission as Heero--begin encountering one another as if drawn together. Through the schemes of Treize Khushrenada, leader of the secret society known as OZ, they end up wiping out the peaceful faction of the Alliance leadership. With this incident, OZ steps onto the center stage of history.
