Nissan Quest, Ford Expedition Top List of Best Deals, According to TrueCar's "Steals on Wheels"

Report shares the vehicles that consumers are saving the most off the MSRP

SANTA MONICA, Calif., Aug. 22, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- The Nissan Quest SV, with a 15.1% savings off MSRP, currently tops the list of the best deals on new vehicles, according to automotive pricing information site Published monthly, "Steals on Wheels" shares which vehicles consumers are saving the most off the MSRP, according to recent average transaction prices.


A review of recent data showed consumers saved an average of $4,628 off the 2013 Nissan Quest SV (MSRP $30,585), which had a market average transaction price of $25,957. This model's 3.5L 6-cylinder engine is rated at 19 city MPG and 24 highway MPG, with a combined rating of 21.5 MPG and features a continuously variable transmission.

The vehicle with the next highest savings this month is the 2013 Ford Expedition XLT with a 310hp FlexFuel V8 engine (MSRP $41,600). Consumers saved an average of $6,170 off MSRP for a market average transaction price of $35,430, a savings of 14.8%. This model gets 14 city MPG, 20 highway MPG and 16.8 combined MPG.

"If you are in the market for a new family vehicle with lots of room for everyone, you're in luck: all top-ten vehicles with the biggest discounts this month are either minivans or large/luxury SUVs," said Jesse Toprak, senior analyst for TrueCar. "Consumers thinking about purchasing an SUV later in the year may be better off buying one in the late summer months as prices for the segment tend to increase substantially near the beginning of the winter."
