
North Carolina Student Athlete Jack Twomey-Kozak Named Ninth National Finalist For Wendy's High School Heisman Award
Student surprised with news during high school celebration
RALEIGH-DURHAM, N.C., Nov. 14, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Of the 48,000 students who applied for this year's award, local high school senior Jack Twomey-Kozak of Orange High School in Hillsborough, North Carolina was the ninth to be honored with a surprise announcement at his high school that he was chosen as one of twelve national finalists for the 2012 Wendy's High School Heisman Award, which honors exceptional students who bring excellence in academics, athletics and community service.
The twelve national finalists will travel to New York City where two national winners – one male, one female – will be chosen and each will receive a crystal Wendy's High School Heisman trophy; $10,000 donation to their respective high schools; and recognition during the collegiate Heisman ceremony in New York City on Friday, December 7, 2012.
