BOSTON and CHICAGO, May 9, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- Northern Light® (www.northernlight.com) and KnowledgeHound (https://www.knowledgehound.com) today announced a partnership to advance comprehensive knowledge management (KM) capabilities at large enterprises. The two companies are jointly marketing their solutions for searching and analyzing text and data, respectively, to help business professionals glean and share insights from market, customer and competitive intelligence research to inform decision-making.
Northern Light specializes in machine learning-powered KM platforms for market research and competitive intelligence (CI). Northern Light's SinglePoint™ market research/CI portal enables all of an organization's information — from subscription services, business news, and internal research — to be accessed in one place.
KnowledgeHound allows an organization to dive deeper into its data to reveal connections and insights, and then easily share those insights through charts and tables, fully interactive dashboards or powerful stories that can influence and inform critical decisions.
In a joint arrangement where Northern Light is providing the KM system and search of textual material, KnowledgeHound provides querying and display of data analytics. In this model, textual content (PDFs, Word, PowerPoint, HTML, XML) and multimedia objects (videos, audio tracks) are held at Northern Light and data files (SAS files, SPSS files, spreadsheets, etc.) are held at KnowledgeHound. Each company applies its search and visualization technology to the content it holds, but access to the two repositories is unified through the SinglePoint portal.
"Northern Light provides the most effective search and insight extraction from textual content," C. David Seuss, Northern Light's CEO, said. "KnowledgeHound provides the most effective search and insight extraction from research data. Together, our mutual clients have the best of both worlds."
"In today's tech world, it is difficult for a single platform to satisfy every possible use case. The collaboration with Northern Light, the most advanced search technology provider in enterprise knowledge management, is a win for our company and our customers," said Kristi Zuhlke, CEO of KnowledgeHound. "By combining our two technologies, companies will be able to transform their existing knowledge into decisions more effectively than ever before."
Both Northern Light and KnowledgeHound are what information industry research firm Jinfo categorizes as "intelligence platforms," which integrate discovery along with other traditional and emerging technologies for extracting insights from a corpus of material, and use analytics tools to make insights visible. According to Jinfo, "intelligence systems . . . are user-centric, rather than information-team-centric. The highest value of the system comes when end-users interact with and through the platform in order to achieve specific project, team and business goals."
KnowledgeHound provides software solutions that combine the power of search and visual analytics across an organization's customer research. Trusted by world-leading Fortune 1000 brands, KnowledgeHound helps a variety of cross-functional teams around the globe unlock the enormous potential trapped inside their customer research. The primary objective of KnowledgeHound's platform is to support the transformation of clients' data into actionable business decisions. Headquartered in Chicago, Illinois and established in 2013, KnowledgeHound is a quickly-growing company with many integration partners and deeply-rooted expertise in the market research industry.
