
Northern Sun Energy Expands Leadership Team to Support Growing Solar & Storage Portfolio
Company adds senior expertise in pre-construction, engineering, procurement, finance, and project management as it scales its utility-scale solar & storage EPC business
ORLANDO, Fla., Sept. 1, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Northern Sun Energy, a leading engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) provider for utility-scale solar and battery energy storage projects, today announced four additions to its leadership team: Jason Double, P.Eng., Director of Pre-Construction & Project Management; Jonathan Tracey, P.Eng., Director of Engineering & Procurement; Nancy Surian, Director of Finance & Controls; and Ross Ewart, Senior Project Manager.
The new hires bring deep engineering, financial, and construction management expertise to Northern Sun Energy as the company continues to grow its project pipeline and footprint across the United States and into Canada.
Jason Double, P.Eng., joins as Director of Pre-Construction & Project Management, bringing more than 20 years of experience in preconstruction, estimating, and project management. He most recently led preconstruction and estimating for a top-tier renewable EPC company since 2017, with a background spanning automotive, steelmaking, energy, petrochemical, aggregates, and infrastructure. In his new role, Jason will oversee estimating, proposals, subcontractor bids, and construction planning & scheduling, while supporting project execution across Northern Sun Energy's project portfolio.
Jonathan Tracey, P.Eng., joins as Director of Engineering & Procurement with nearly 25 years of experience across over 1.2 GW of solar and energy storage projects in Canada and the United States. Jonathan has led the development, engineering, and execution of utility-scale and community renewable energy projects across all phases of the project lifecycle, from development and due diligence through engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning.
Nancy Surian joins as Director of Finance & Controls, bringing more than 18 years of construction industry experience in financial reporting, project controls, and risk management at both the project and corporate level. Nancy will direct financial reporting, cost tracking, and forecasting, and will oversee teams responsible for project controls, and financial management.
Ross Ewart joins as Senior Project Manager with over 13 years of experience managing complex electrical construction projects, including the design and integration of medium voltage motor control equipment and modular electrical buildings. Ross has directly managed more than 115 MW of utility-scale solar EPC projects and will oversee project contract management, cost and schedule management, and total construction effort on Northern Sun Energy's job sites.
