IRVING, Texas, Oct. 1, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- NorthStar Anesthesia today announced the expansion of its ambulatory surgery center (ASC) partnerships across Georgia, strengthening its position as a leader in delivering high-quality anesthesia care at scale. With more than 60 active partnerships across the state, NorthStar is demonstrating how a regional model built on transparency, clinical independence, and long-term relationships can serve as a national model for ambulatory surgical excellence.
For over 40 years, NorthStar's Sentry team has supported hospitals, single-specialty, and multispecialty ASCs across Georgia. Today, nearly 50 anesthesiologists and more than 200 Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNAs) deliver services ranging from routine outpatient procedures to advanced orthopedic and cancer care.
"NorthStar's Georgia success is rooted in intentional growth and a deep commitment to local leadership and care team autonomy," said Chris McWilliams, President of Clinical Operations for NorthStar's Sentry team. "We've built a sustainable partnership model that empowers CRNAs, engages anesthesiologists where needed, and supports financial and clinical goals for ASCs."
Built for Scale, Designed for Quality
NorthStar's growth in Georgia reflects a deliberate strategy, not opportunistic expansion. In the past four months alone, five new ASC partners have joined the portfolio:
- OrthoAtlanta (Austell)
- Professional Eye Surgery Center (Dalton)
- Takle Eye Center (Griffin)
- Apex Spine and Neurosurgery Center (Suwanee)
- A Spine Surgery Center (in the Atlanta area)
These partnerships are built on:
- A cost-transparent model that drives financial sustainability.
- Best-in-class revenue cycle expertise, with a data-first approach to optimize financial performance
- A staffing approach that supports CRNA independence with anesthesiologist engagement as needed.
Recruiting for the Future
NorthStar has established one of the strongest recruiting pipelines in the country, with ties to more than 65 CRNA training programs—including Augusta University, Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC), and Emory University. Each year, 5–10 new graduates join the Sentry team, ensuring ASC partners have access to well-trained clinicians prepared for efficient, patient-centered care.
A Model with National Relevance
As payors, health systems, and patients continue shifting toward outpatient care, NorthStar's Georgia success provides a model for scaling ASC partnerships nationwide. By delivering consistent anesthesia care across the acuity spectrum—from ophthalmic to high-volume orthopedic cases—NorthStar helps ASCs achieve more with less while maintaining the highest standards of safety and patient satisfaction.
"Georgia is proof of what's possible when you combine transparency, recruiting strength, and clinical independence," said Cindy Myers, Vice President of NorthStar's ASC Division. "We look forward to expanding this model to more ASCs across the country."
